The ghee flavored fiery red, tangy and spicy dish soon became very popular and is available in restaurants across Karnataka. This exotic chicken dish on almost every Mangalore restaurant menu & is an absolute delight to eat.

Pair it with Neer Dosa or Appam and it makes for an awesome meal. Fiery red, tangy and spicy with an unmistakable flavor of ghee roasted spices, this authentic home style chicken dish is not for the faint heart. Ingredients Needed for Chicken Ghee Roast Masala
  1. Chicken pieces
  2. Ghee
  3. Butter
  4. Ginger garlic paste
  5. Lemon
  6. Coriander leaves (chopped)
  7. Chicken Ghee Roast Masala


Clean 700gm chicken pieces, add 100gms Chicken Ghee Roast Masala, squeeze one full lemon juice in it & mix it well, marinate it for 2 hrs. Now take a frying pan, put 50gms ghee & also marinated chicken pieces, cook in low flame.Put ghee and butter little by little and keep on stirring it until the gravy becomes thick.Then garnish it with coriander leave & keep away from flame. Now Chicken Ghee Roast is ready to serve.(Do not add chilly, salt or water)
